Records Section
The Records Section is a civilian support unit, which provides general record maintenance and data entry for the department. The department's records clerk is responsible for processing a multitude of crime reports, arrest reports, traffic accident reports, traffic citations and all other incident-related paperwork generated by the daily operations of the police department. The records clerk is also the agency's Maryland State Police UCR liaison, and is responsible for completing the monthly Uniform Crime Reports.
At present, only Motor Vehicle Traffic Accident Reports are available to the general public, at a cost of $10.00 each. Accident Reports can be obtained from the police department Monday - Friday, from 9am to 8pm. (Excluding holidays.)
Temporarily, copies of Crime and/or Incident Reports, can be obtained from the Prince George's County Police Department's Central Records Unit, located at 4990 Rhode Island Avenue - Hyattsville, MD. 20781. Call 301-699-2630 for additional information and directions.
